Hi,

I'm 56 year old chap living near London in the UK.  In July 2020 I underwent open heart surgery to replace Aortic Valve and root.  I use my fitbit to monitor heart rate and steps/distance etc. currently during walking but intending to start jog/run/cycle into recovery soon.

I've always been a fairly 'sporty' but not into gym/running (although I did complete a 10k in my 40's) and was wondering if there is a group of people people in this community to help benchmark sensible performance targets etc - e.g. what should I expect for 5k at my age and medication (betablocker)?

To give an idea of my 'recovery' progress I've now walked 10km in 2hrs with HR in the 100-120 range throughout - which I was quite please with.(I have no other health issues other than typical middle age aches and pains)

I enjoy a glass of beer, desserts and cakes and see exercise partly as a price I have to pay!

Sounds good I am particularly paralyzed so running for me is an issue I was
jogging for a few years but since I retired I am out of the Loop I just
walk and once in a while jog. Somehow I can't get my charge unit to sync

I live near the ocean, my fitness goals are to lose 9 lbs, tone up, and build muscle. 

I like to stay fit paddleboarding, (my 1st love), biking, yoga, running & some weight training at home. I don't stop once I have my coffee! I'm motivated because I once weighted 201 bs & I'm never going back there again! Since then I have weighted 128lbs to 150. I prefer to stay within the 130 range. 

My guilty pleasures are wine, Netflix, and a juicy burger.

Hello Fitbit Family, I'm Mariah, and I live in:

1. California.

2. My current fitness goal is to be under 200lbs for health reasons and maintain a healthy weight to stay in shape. I beat Thyroid cancer a few years ago, and thus, it caused me to gain weight and I struggled with hypothyroidism as well as overall nutrition since then.

3. I would like to stay fit by walking 10,000 steps everyday and add in some cardio (beginner level) as well as cycling, and swimming.

4. What motivates me the most, is positive group feedback. I don't like to go to the gym alone, but since my boyfriend took me at the beginning of this year, I've gotten over the fear of being at a gym surrounded by people because I understand everyone is working on their own fitness goal and it's ok. My loving boyfriend motivates me of course too. My family tries to support me, but it gets rocky.

5. My favorite guilty pleasure, would be eating dessert, because I have a real sweet tooth. I love chocolate/cupcakes. If anyone has any positive advice for me, or would like to be friends, let me know. ^.^

Hello Fitbit Community!!!

 

I am not  new to FitBit, but I am new to the awesome community––I never really knew existed. After a long hiatus from fitness, I made a strong comeback a few years ago. In that time, I have become more active than a high school athlete. Life if good when you are moving! With our new way of connecting, that is to say––social distancing––I have been craving connection with like minds, challenges with those who want to push themselves beyond their comfort zones, and motivation to keep it all going. 

 

A little about myself: 

 

1. I am tucked away nicely in the hills of the North East Kingdom, Vermont

2. My current health and fitness goals are to become the runner I was before settling down with a family, drop my resting heart rate to something I can be proud of, finish off that last few pounds of a 2 year weight loss journey––that I would never say was easy––but yet I did it, and start competing in the fitness world, if only just for good fun. 

3. I like to stay fit with running, my favorite––CrossFit, yoga, biking, cross country skiing, hiking, a leisurely walk every now and then, and recovery sessions in my hot tub––most especially during a soft falling snow on 20 degree evening. 

4. I admit, I am motivated by competition–-first and foremost, followed by a close second of results. 

5. My guilty pleasures could never be simplified to just one...That would be like picking your favorite child or pet. So let's just say, I could never turn  down Paton tequila on a Saturday night,  a little slice of chocolate cake on a Sunday afternoon, and scrolling through the **ahem**ic comments of Facebook's news media outlet posts...among many other posts...

😀Hello from SKIWALKER, I'm in Wilbraham, MA and love the OKEMO mountain in ski season..and walking dogs, as my weekly home exercise.  At 80 I am enjoying relatively good health and a new knee.  I have my SUPER SENIOR EPIC season ski pass and hope to get some ski days in this winter.  I love the out doors and have for years.  I just upgraded to a FITBIT Inspire HR and love it.  Now, just to get back to the loading of foods and water per day!  I have enjoyed the FITBIT for the past 3years.  In 2018, it helped me lose 37lbs before my new knee.  Now, I have to get back to logging to maintain the weight and healthy life style.  This Pandemic has been tough and also dealing with a CPAP machine!?  I believe the FitBit gives me great info to compare with the CPAP info.  Some days my HR will not GIVE me a SLEEP SCORE.  I wonder if anyone else has that problem??  My sleep pattern is sometimes limited to 2.5 hrs per sleep stretch before I have to make a "nite walk" ..but, I fall right back to sleep when I go back to bed.

1 Where in the world am I?  Outside Houston Texas - 

2 What is my current health/fitness goal? To lose the last 20 pounds and get to 200 - down from 268 over the years

3 How do I stay fit? Gym - weight/resistance training and core work, alternating days with power walk/jog for LISS and HIIT

4 What motivates me? Fear of gaining my weight back....I've gained and lost more than 50 pounds 5 times in my life...this time is for keeps

5 Favorite guilty pleasure? Pizza...I could eat it five times a week but control myself to once a month

Hi everyone!! I just got my Fitbit for my birthday yesterday. Looking forward to getting fit and being healthy!

  3. How do you like to stay fit? I like to hike the White Mountains here in NH. I also do a lot of walking at work. I don't workout but I am ready to try and get more exercise in my daily routine.
  4. What motivates you? My husband. My family. My grandson. I want to be here for them and I want to do this for myself also.
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure? Wow! Not sure how to answer this! I have a weakness for ice cream but I try to limit how much I eat.
