Elevated heart rate

I've been paying more attention to my heart rate lately and found that my resting heart rate is around 68-69. There have been a few times it's been at 80 when I go to bed and stays there. I've been trying to find a connection and so far all I can think of is my tea. Is there any way that could be causing the spike in my heart rate?

Hey there @LadyBC  and welcome to the community. I don't think what you are having would be considered a spike and I am not sure it is anything to be concerned about. However, if you feel dizzy or exhausted or shaky, then you definitely should reach out to your GP. If you are really worried about it, you should as well as additional stress is not good. As far as tea, hot things, hot temperatures, humidity, caffeine, sugar, alcohol, allergies... the list is long can cause an increase in our RHR.
