Fitbit Meditations & Mindfulness (honest opinion)

What is mindfulness? It is the practice of intentionally paying attention to the present moment, and making space to do so from a place of non-judgment. 🍃

Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. And these benefits don't end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day and may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions. 😎

In case that you haven't noticed it, you can practice mindfulness sessions on the Fitbit app. You can read more about it here: Why should I practice mindfulness with the Fitbit app?

I've been logging my meditations and I really liked them. They do make me feel more relaxed and happier. I also have the option to see sessions from Premium, but right now I want to talk about the free option.  Until now, I like the most "A relaxing Forest Walk" (23 minutes). I loved Rachel's voice, so soft and serene. I can definitely feel the sounds and sensations of a walk in the woods, I don't have the option to do that in real life so I enjoyed that particular journey.

When I don't have too much time to do a long session, I choose the "2-Minute Stress Reliever". Meditation is shown to thicken the pre-frontal cortex. This brain center manages higher order brain function, like increased awareness, concentration, and decision making. Changes in the brain show, with meditation, higher-order functions become stronger, while lower-order brain activities decrease.

You have other 13 free meditation sessions to try:

-Breathe, Relax and Drift off to Sleep -How to Calm Down -Drift off to Sleep -Human Being not Human doing
-Gathering Focus -Relax from Head to Toe -Velveteen Rabbit -A very simple Meditation
-A journey to Peacefulness -A Fresh Start -Bansuri Flute with Gentle waves

-The Reset

-De-stress at your Desk

How to calm down is my favorite. I use this to get centered after a stressful meeting and right before taking my blood pressure. 😁

I like the "Drift Off to Sleep" ones. I never make it to the end though. I always fall asleep before they are finished.

Is there a way to access the meditations on my laptop, rather than just on my phone?  In the mornings, I try not to look at my phone as I begin my day and was wondering if there were other options?

Since I upgraded to premium I can only access 6 meditations. 4 are premium and two are the free ones. Where have all the other free ones gone and why haven’t I gotten more premium ones?

@alisac22 after you open the app, tap "Discover" at the bottom of the screen, and then scroll down until you see "Mindfulness". If you select that, you'll find a lot of meditations there.
