HI everyone, am new to Fitbit community, am mixed Australia, and German.

Where in the world are you? I'm in the United States, i'm new to FitBit as of mid January 2020, this is my second account.

 

What is your current health/fitness goal? My current focus is reducing my weight by trying to monitor all food intake, calculate, and log calories with an eye out to add additional nutritional focal points, i attend class on a regular basis which might be considered similar to AA group therapy, in the process, which is all new to me, i'm learning a lot, and achieving what I consider some success. In the process, I have wound up watching my exercise in my daily chores, and some deliberate activities both cardio and strength. I also wound up paying attention to my sleep log as sleep has become difficult, cause of the nature of my job.

 

How do you like to stay fit? I like to camp, fish, jog, and kayak (whitewater) rivers as much as possible, but find any time on the water is a plus whether its a river, or the pool.

 

What motivates you? I'm a volunteer, in the battlefield, i teach, and coach, and my greatest incentive, and motivation is other peoples enthusiasm, and smiles at their own success, and achievements.

 

Favorite guilty pleasure? I don't know what to say, since i shouldn't have to feel guilty about pleasure,.
i do have questions about how fitbit monitors, and calculates? I have found it monitors my sleep fairly well, it seems to calculate my steps, and mileage more accurately than GoogleFit, and when i get back home from where i'm posted, i hope to continue using it.

What an interesting post, @SparksK ! So nice to see your enthusiasm! I think this post would be perfect in the Community -> Health & Wellness —> Be Inspired forum so I’m going to move your post there. You are more likely to get a good conversation going there. You may also want to check out the other Health & Wellness threads. 

 

BTW, I’m from beautiful Michigan. And my goal is to keep my joints moving since that seems to help my arthritis better than anything else. I enjoy walking.

Thanks a lot Carol, am from Melbourne Australia, but i live in the Washington DC United States, and my goal is to stay fit, and meet a training partner in the same country, hopefully when i'm on vacation we can meet for some training, and coffee.

That would be nice, @SparksK . In the mean time, friend some of the folks here. We can all participate in challenges together. My husband and I have Fitbit friends from all over the world. Fitbit adjusts for time differences. If you get your beautiful girls Fitbit Ace’s, you can create a family account and challenge each other. My 10 year old grandson keeps me on my toes for sure!
