Positive Outlooks

This week let's talk about positive outlooks.  Often times we are too hard on ourselves, which can lead to stress and often being discouraged from some of the things that we really want to achieve.  I'm following Weight Watchers now, and one thing that they teach us is how to eliminate that negative self talk.  They always tell us to talk to ourselves like we would talk to a friend who might be facing the same issues.

So, I want you to tell me three things:

1.) What is one thing you did that went well last week?

2.) What is one thing that went badly last week?

3.) What is something that you can do to prevent what happened last week from happening again?

I'll start:

1.) One thing that went well for me last week was the training that I have to do at work on Dementia Care.  Some of my coworkers (even within my department) told me I did a good job and that they got something out of it.

2.) I didn't stay as faithful to my diet as I could have.

3.) I will try to be as faithful as I can be to my diet this week.

@DramaQueenDiva  you're so right. I used to find myself saying negative things and finally told myself to stop it! It has made a difference in my mood because we can all be a bit too hard on ourselves. As I tell others, we are our own worst critic. No matter what we do, we always seem to find the flaws in it, while someone else would only see the good parts of it.

Thing that went well last week?   my patio garden blooming

Thing that went badly last week? the plants in tubs are overflowing and can't be transplanted (I'll figure something out.)

Thing I'll do to prevent it from happening again?  stop believing some of the gardening websites when they say which plants can grow in tubs!

Very true, @DramaQueenDiva! It's important to stay with a positive mindset and learn to enjoy the little things. 😀

1. I learned a new Pasta recipe and it turned out to be great and delicious!

2. I feel I didn't eat very good throughout the week, but I'm trying to compensate for it this week.

3. I tend to eat more when I feel anxiety, so I have to learn to control myself and to stay motivated and focused on my goals.
