Who has the Most Lifetime Fitbit Steps?

I thought it might be fun to see some of the "Total Lifetime Steps" figures from a few of the more diehard Fitbiters out there. I've been using my Fitbit Ultra for just about 2 years, and noticed that I've now gone past the 5 Million Steps mark (I'm currently at: 5,018,549 steps).

While 5 Million Steps may seem like a lot to some newer Fitbit users, I can tell you for sure, that my wife easily has me beat, since she now has logged over 7½ Million Steps (and we both started using our fitbits right around the same time).

But of course, I'm sure we could actually see some really amazing high figures if some of the more agressive Fitbit users would like to share their current Lifetime totals with the community.

@nhw3w123 - 2009, Wow. That's the first year for Fitbit, I think.

@yu4517 - 93,888 miles divided by 24,901 (circumference of the earth) = 3.77 trips around the earth. You will hit 4x around the earth about 400 miles before you get to 100,000 miles. Since you are doing about 20 miles a day, you should hit both those milestones in July 2025, unless you speed things up, of course. Keep at it.

I've taken over 56,000,000 steps since 2015.  😉 My fitbit is my only addiction.

Not many people reach 50million. Well done!
Currently I am at 172 million
If I reach 200 million I think that will be enough
That will take 2+ years, by which time I will be 86 if I live that long.

@yeaemail777 - awesome, keep up the great work!

I'm afraid my totals won't be as much going forward - you see, I only use
the FitBit Zip, which they stopped selling years ago, although you can
still get them online from other vendors. Well, sometime last fall while on
a hike my Zip fell out of my pocket and I never was able to find it. I
bought a new one online and tried to sync it up with the app on my phone
but it was only able to partially connect - I think the newest version of
the app just isn't completely backward compatible with the Zip. So what
happens is that it syncs only part of my steps each day and sometimes none
at all. For example, I might have 22,000 actual steps on the device but
when synced it only shows that I did 19,000. And like I said some days it
doesn't sync any - I did a 62 mile trail running race back in December
(took me more than 24 hours to finish) and I got credit for 0, yes 0 steps.

I tried everything I could possibly think of to resolve it but nothing
worked. So, I can still see accurate steps on my Zip itself but cumulative
steps going forward will miss a substantial number. Kinda sucks because I
liked tracking lifetime steps - I'm quite sure I've passed 75 million but
my profile only counts 74.3 million.

Well done. The latest posts on this thread prompted me to check how much my lifetime steps count is now. 60 million at last (in 7 years 11 months 3 weeks 2 days)!

Great post thread you have started Sir. I started my Fitbit journey on 13 March 2024 (last year). I just checked my Fitbit app. I have completed 14,669,290 steps so far. Nearing my Fitbit Earth lifetime Badge. In this same thread I happened to see, what I guess must be the record, for fastest record of the highest lifetime distance badges of Fitbit - Pole to Pole (or 12,430 miles). Dan B has completed this phenomenal distance in just 2 years six months and 21 days! That is simply AWESOME! And that gives me a target to aim at. You see, I have already clocked more than 7000 km in my first 365 days. I am aiming to cross at least 8000 km this year. That still leaves me the arduous task or completing about 5000 km in the next six months (because 12,430 miles is just over 20,000 km).

Oh my God! What an addiction this Fitbit is!!

@Boson1969 - way to go, that's fantastic! Keep it up!

I have an update on my struggles with syncing to the app and the loss of a lot of steps that would have otherwise been recorded. Once again I recently lost my zip - it would tend to fall out of my pocket sometimes when I got my wallet out at the store. Didn't recover it so I thought that was it - I wanted to continue to record and track my steps/miles but didn't want a wearable on my wrist. I went without any replacement for a few weeks but then decided to look into alternatives. That's when I discovered the Inspire 3 - although it's designed with a band to be worn like a watch it also has the option of removing the wristbands, being inserted into a rubber clipped case (similar to the zip), and has a mode specifically designed for that. I purchased one along with a clip case and now I'm back in business. It syncs fully to the app, I can throw it in my pocket, and clip it to my shorts when on a run or at the gym. Unfortunately I probably lost a few million steps over the past year due to the syncing issues with the zip. But I have lifetime 76,500,000 steps and plan to keep adding to my totals!

@ceraffen  76.5 million steps is simply unbelievable! How long did it take you to achieve that? And I cannot even imagine how much lifetime distance you would have covered. Should be definitely more than 40,000 miles! Am I right?

I am in the company of legends here. Truly inspired by your achievements Sir. I bought my Inspire 2 on sale in Amazon last year. I find it to be very accurate and I charge it just once every week. Very robust and reliable device

What an extraordinary statement.   I can tell you that it is certainly possible, because in the past I have averaged over that for a calendar year.  In 2022, my daily average was 44577.  At the moment it's not even a quarter of that, sadly, as I am not in good medical shape, as frequent posters on here know.

JTF, it is a dangerous thing to query achievements unless you are well informed.

@Vidd : Sir, 44577 steps daily average maybe works out to more than 30km per day! That is BEYOND EXTRAORDINARY! You must have covered more than 9000 km in 2022. I am averaging just about more than one half marathon per day this year, and it's not easy at all.

Truly hats off to you Sir.

@Boson1969 Thank you!  He's gone now, but back then I had a wonderful border collie, who went with me on all of my walks.  We usually did 90 minutes first thing and last thing, and up to three hours in the afternoons.  We live in a very scenic part of Shropshire, so it was very pleasurable to do.

You are doing well with your daily routine - keep it up!

Given an average step of 30 inches, which might be a reasonable average, taking the shorter steps up hills into account, I make it slightly more at 32km per day.  On average I was managing 5.5 to 6 hours each day, so that looks to be about right, giving around 12,300 km for that year.

@Boson1969 - thanks! That 76 million is over the course of 11 years. I started in September, 2014 as part of a fitness challenge at work. I run ultramarathons so those have kept me at some decently high step amd mileage totals over the years. Total lifetime miles is close to 37,000. And with the ultramarathons I've had 18 separate days where I've done more than 100,000 steps in a single day. The most steps in a day was 152,000.

Wow
In 1 day only I have reached 100,000 steps.
152,000 is amazing.
My total steps are now just over 180 million.
But now at 84 slowing down.
Doubt if I will ever see 100k in a day again
Well done

I have 94 million steps, and it's taken me about a dozen years. I'm 82 and
retired so I have no trouble walking 20 thousand steps/day. I'm aiming for
100 million steps.

@BruceM Sir, that is just amazing. Compared to you, I'm just a newbie. Sep 1969 born, so I have completed 56 years. I just checked my monthly steps average: it's around 0.8 million. So I can aim for around 9.6 million steps a year. As I started on 13 March last year, I have completed around 14.9 million steps so far (579 days). I am inspired by your dedication Sir. Hope I can keep up the zeal for so long as you have done.

Thank you
