Activity steps mismatch between fitbit display and dashboard

I've been using my Fitbit One for a couple of years now without any problems; generally I'm very happy with it. In the last couple of weeks, however, the number of steps recorded/displayed on the Fitbit itself during any activity doesn't match the number of steps displayed on the dashboard for that activity once I've synced it. This isn't a mobile app; it's on the computer, so I'd have thought it was taking the info directly from the Fitbit. There shouldn't be anything else interfering with it. I tried resetting my Fitbit a few days ago, but it's still happening. The number of steps displayed on the dashboard is consistently 2-3% lower than that displayed on the Fitbit. It's not a drastic difference, but it is annoying when I'm aiming to do a certain number of steps. The weird thing is, the time for that activity is OK, and so is the total number of steps - both of these match the Fitbit display. Anyone else encountered this and have any solutions?

Fitbit Mobile app says I did 14,666 steps on 09/28/2021

Fitbit Website Dashboard says I did 10,606 steps on same day.

Even stranger...
FitbitWebsite Dashboard says I did on  09/28/2021

Walk10,6065.14 miles

and on 09/24/2021

Walk10,4045.33 miles

So I did approximately 200 less steps for a longer distance!!

Super Duper!! Me legs are growing longer by the day!!
