Lately the amount of calories I’ve burned, compared to the steps I’ve taken, have been WAY OFF! 😖 A couple Examples:
~7,477 steps, only burned 543 calories!
~4,063 steps, burned 987 calories....
They’re BOTH WRONG! You can tell just by looking at my 2 examples, 7,477 steps should have certainly burned more calories than 4,063 steps! 😖
AND I think the steps I listed, probably BOTH burned MORE CALORIES than stated!

It depends on whether your 4,000 steps were done in 'intensive/active' mode as well though - if they were, it's not unreasonable for your Fifbit to record double calorie burn.

Hi
You don't put your Fitbit in active mode - it records that by itself - I think based on the speed you go coupled with continuous stepping for longer than 10 mins. When it detects that you're 'active', it'll give you a higher calorie burn. It should show up on your app how many active minutes you've done each day.
That said, I also think that calorie burn on the One isn't accurate as it can't monitor your heart rate and use that as a factor (so if you were doing short bursts of exercise less than 10 minutes, it wouldn't record the higher calorie burn which you're obviously doing) so it can only ever be a guideline figure.
If you need more accurate measurements, you'll probably need to get one of the newer Fitbits.
PS - I can't access THIS community via the phone app at all - only via the Fitbit website. There's a whole different community on the app. However, I'm on Android so things may be different to IOS - or it might be the way you have your phone and app permissions set up.
