App says my battery is low but charger says it is full. It won't sync.

My app is up-to-date, but lately every few days it won't sync.  Today I can't get yesterday or today's step counts on the app, but I know the Fitbit counted yesterday's, and has counted today's so far. The app indicates my battery is low but when I put it in the charger it shows full.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting the tablet, logging out and logging back in.  I am stumped.

@Barb612 @SunsetRunner likely nothing to do with the app or tablet. It sounds like your battery is dead or dying. Unfortunately, this happens as they're only rated for a couple of years. If showing full on the charger but nothing when disconnected, it's dead. If showing full-on charger but low battery when disconnected, it's dying and/or not charging properly.

The app will only report the battery level at the time of the previous sync. If the tracker hasn't synced in a few days, yes the level reported in the app will not be correct.

See here for help with syncing.

I was afraid it had to do with the age of my One, which I started using 6 years ago, and you've confirmed my fear.  Guess it's time for another option for the long haul.

@Barb612 there is a thread on changing the battery on the One. This normally is tge failure point.

I'm sure you know someone who could do this.

@Barb612 6 years is an amazing value from this little tracker. You can try replacing your own battery or buy a new One with a new battery or a good condition used One on eBay inexpensively right now.

@SunsetRunner see the links above in case they may help you and visit the thread here on how to replace the battery. Feel free to ask any questions, I've successfully recovered several Fitbit Ones. Cheers!
