I just upgraded and want to give my fitbit one to my wife is this possible?  If so what do I need to do? Can I erase my stats and she can create her own account and link the fitbit to it?

Yes, that's not a problem. If your wife creates a new fitbit account (with a different email address) and adds your old fitbit as a new device, it will delete any data left on it and reassign it to her account.

It will definitely disappear from your account when she sets it up on hers.  However, I'm not completely sure, but I don't think setting it up on a new account deletes unsynced data on it.  I think any data on the Fitbit not synced to your account will sync to hers (would really like to know if this is true, but it would explain some issues I have seen reported).  So my advice would be to sync it to your account one last time just before you give it to her.

@SteveH awesome Steve thanks for the info will definitely do that and I suppose I have to delete from mt device list so it's not pulling from both.

I'm not sure that you do. A fitbit can only be linked to one account at a time so I think it will dissappear from yours when reassigned.

@MariamV @SteveH Ok I removed it from my account and set it up on her account and my stats transferred over.  How do I erase this thing so she can earn her own badges and not just get mine?

@LocoMutant , as long as your wife has her own account the data will be hers. However, the Fitbit can store up to 30 days of data, and my understanding is that any unsynced data will transfer to the new account, so I am guessing that is what happened. I was hoping you might try my suggestion of syncing one last time just before you transferred... There is no way to remove badges, except by setting up another account, but going forward all data will be hers.

@Julia_G She did set up her own account, and downloaded the app on her phone.  I did one last sync and removed it from my account.  Yet it still uploaded my stats to her account.  This is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

@LocoMutant thanks for the update. @Julia_G is quite right. Your stats shouldn't transfer if your wife has her own Fitbit account. However, at this point I'd recommend contacting our Support Team for further assistance. They definitely have the proper tools to take a deeper look into your tracker's behavior and your wife's Fitbit account. When you contact them, please make sure you mention and explain the situation and provide every detail possible. By doing that you're helping our Support Team to properly follow up with your cases and to provide a quick solution. Keep me posted with the outcome! Smiley Happy
