It's nice to see you on board @Mombo, welcome! The Fitbit app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to sync with your Fitbit tracker. To initiate a sync, just open the Fitbit app.
You must have Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device or Windows 10 PC to sync your tracker with the Fitbit app. If your mobile device is in airplane mode, it will not sync until you turn off airplane mode or manually turn Bluetooth back on.
Your tracker syncs with the Fitbit app every time you open the app, or periodically throughout the day if you have all-day sync turned on. Some customers find that all-day sync causes the battery on their mobile device to drain too quickly. If this happens, you can disable all-day sync.
Your tracker syncs with Fitbit Connect every 15 minutes if it is near your computer and the wireless sync dongle is plugged in.
You can sync your tracker with any compatible mobile device or computer that meets syncing requirements. Note that if your mobile device is "bonded" to your tracker, you'll need to disable the bond before you can sync with another device or a computer. For details, see Why is my tracker only syncing with one mobile device?
You can stop using the computer and move using your phone, but it's up to you. I usually sync with my phone, but when it's charging I use my computer so I use both just in case.
Happy stepping!
