That doesn't sound good. The restart procedure is the only real tool we have to address issues with our fitbits. It doesn't always work so trying a few times was a good idea. As it hasn't worked I think your best course of action would be to contact customer support:

thank you for your response ; i will contact customer support but not optomistic. I am a an avid fan of the concept and enjoy the device but wish it had replaceable batteries
