Fitbit 1 not syncing

I just updated to Win 10 on my computer and now I notice that the Fitbit 1 is not syncing.  In fact it hasn't since Jan1.  I have 6.64 firmware version.  I've tried all the suggestions on the website, restarted the system, tried it on my laptop and desktop but the sync is still not working.  The One is recording my data.  I've checked my bluetooth setting and it is ok too, plus I have the dongle plugged in.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I finally gave up and called FitBit.   I had to go to the Microsoft Store and download the app for Windows 10.   Wish someone had said that in the responses.   Anyway it is now synced and the tech support person was surprised that I got the past 7 weeks back into the sync log.

So issue solved.

My Fitbit One is not syncing

Best Answer

Just noticed my Fitbit one stopped syncing yesterday. Kind of weird? Is there something going on with the Fitbit one? Are they pulling support from it? Just curious???

I did a hard reset on my iPhone and it started syncing again.

Some things:

Uninstall and reinstall the FitBit software

Check to see if anti-virus application is blocking it

Check to see if VPN is blocking it if you have a VPN installed

Check to see that the FitBit service is running

Check to see that you are keeping other Bluetooth devices away from the One and the Dongle on the computer

A reset that works for me is: Connect up One to charger. Push and hold button to display battery icon. Release button and press again until firmware version is displayed. Release button and disconnect from charging cable.

As mentioned in other posts, the small hole in back of One is not a reset. It is air inlet to a barometric device to determine elevation-floors climbed.

Hope the above helps.

Hi:   I've done a reset several times, checked the blue tooth etc.  Still nothing.  How do I check to see if the FitBit service is running.    Windows 10 has so many icons all over the place that I cant tell if there is a FitBit icon somewhere.  I am not using VPN.  I even turned off Defender but still no luck.  It is recording data but not syncing.       Thanks.

@fishoil glad you're back up and running! I would've mentioned this, however, just seeing this post today. You're very lucky it stored several weeks of data, from what I've experienced, it will only hold about a week, perhaps limited by number of steps taken but I don't know for sure. It looks like @paltroon1 gave this guidance when you first posted. It's good additionally to have a phone or tablet with the app, as the Windows 10 app sometimes just doesn't sync. Occasionally, I've put my tracker right on top of the PC, other times it syncs perfectly. Cheers!

Thanks Williger.  I guess I was confused.  Switching from Win 7 to 10 has been a chore.  I was able to update from 7 to 10 on my laptop thus saving everything but it wouldn't do that on my desktop so I had to do a clean install (or at least the tech guy did it).  Wasn't able to save everything so I've been re-constructing my email threads, lost software and on and on.  I guess I just misunderstood paltroon1.  When the FItBit tech said first we need to uninstall the Win 7 app and replace it with Win 10 app from the MS store it just hit me that if someone had said that in plain English I could have saved everyone a lot of time.  In any event maybe this will help someone else.  Thanks for your help and also for the other suggestions.  I did try every one of them, by the way.  I'll have to go back and read the paltroon1 comment again.

Thanks for your help with this.  I guess your suggestions would have worked if you had added one sentence after reinstall the FitBit software.  The software is located on the MS Store site.  Anyway, problem solved and thanks for your suggestion.  I followed everything but misunderstood the software part.
