Fitbit One Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the Fitbit One has died, I now have to find another tracker.

Edited as I have been pointed to the combined thread for alternatives -- which apparently there aren't many. I've sent a complaint to Fitbit for what little good that will do. For now though, I am an unhappy customer, or perhaps I should say an unhappy former customer.

Why would you complain to Fitbit? That is a very old tracker and as you know, no longer in production. Based on the date of some of your prior posts, the Fitbit One has served you well for over 4 years. That's a pretty good lifespan.

Currently, the only clip on tracker is the Zip.

Why would I complain to Fitbit about discontinuing the better of their clip models? Because when I went to replace my beloved One that has served me for more years than I can count, I found out that it is no longer available, a shock to someone who does not keep up with all the Fitbit news having been perfectly content with the existing model. If you were to look at the comments from other Fitbit One users, you would see that not everyone is able to wear a wrist band and most people agree that the Zip is vastly inferior to the One. I daresay you agree that the Zip is inferior feel that way judging by the units listed in your signature line.

So, I complain in the hopes that they will see that having a non-wrist model is something that people still want and need. If enough people voice their opinions and needs, than perhaps Fitbit will re-release the One or will design a comparable, possibly upgraded model.

I have learned my choices are the Alta with a third-party clip from Amazon or to leave Fitbit for other fitness tracking pastures. With Fitbit's declining revenue, one would think they would prefer to look into options that would keep customers instead of turning them away.

I want Chevrolet to sell the 1970 Chevelle SS 396 again but no matter how many people ask for it, it is not going to happen. The One is very old technology and you are correct, the Zip is not as good. Will Fitbit ever make something that replaces the One? Perhaps, but they are slowly moving towards more advanced trackers with smartwatch like features. Those features would not likely work well on a clip-on tracker. They have kept the Zip for customers that just want a pedometer. At this point the Alta with a 3rd party clip is likely your best option, though it may not be as accurate as the Alta is intended to be worn on the wrist.

I'm with you.  My FitBit One just died after 4 1/2 years, and I'm sad that the only clip-on model available is an inferior product.  I don't like wearing wrist models.  I hope FitBit will some day reconsider.

Actually, my best option at the moment is a competitor's tracker that is where I am heading. At least they provide a clip and they are waterproof and track swimming metrics, so I won't have to put my tracker in a ziplock bag when I go snorkeling. Hopefully the fact that they provide a clip means it will also track well when clipped to my hip (which I feel is still the best way to judge step count) or worn as a pendant. I will miss the display and the stair flight tracker that I had on the One and the friends that I tracked with. I hope that one day Fitbit will make a new clip-on fitness tracker. I don't care whether or not it can read my texts to me or summon a chef to cook me dinner.  The bottom line is that Fitbit has alienated all those who want/need non-wrist bands. I am sad that Fitbit doesn't realize this. Until they do, I'm afraid that I'm most likely saying hasta luego. I will miss tracking with my friends, but I have some using the competitor brand, so I suppose I will cultivate a new group of fitness friends. And, I can be glad that I don't have to climb my stairs over and over again to hit my stair flight goals.

Hi Everyone - we created this post to discuss the One Availability. As mentioned there, unfortunately, there are no plans to bring the One back and we do not have any information on future products. Feel free to check the discussion there, I'll be closing this thread as a duplicate.
