Fitbit One Battery

I am on my 4th fitbit one in 2 years.  After about 9 months the battery just craps out without warning.  one day it's fine and the next it won't hold a charge for more than 2 hours.  The first 2 were replaced by fitbit, but this last time I didn't bother going through the process because it took like 6 weeks, and I didn't want to be without my fitbit for that long.  It seems crazy that these devices are so "disposable".  Is there a way to make them with better battieries or at least make the batteries replaceable?  Seems like a huge waste.

Are you charging it on your computer with the USB Port as that is the best way.

I have had mine for 3 years and it stills hold a charge for 9 days.

@Phin13,

Welcome to the community!

I have had a similar experience to @WendyB.  I have had my Fitbit One since 07/24/2013 (looked up my order on Amazon) and mine lasted 9 days between my last two charges (07/14 to 07/23, since I keep the notification emails).

I'm wondering if you're not charging fully or if something is draining your battery quickly.  Let us know if you want us to help you diagnose.

Thanks for the response. Typically my battery lasts weeks, but after 6 or
so months it stops holding a charge, stops giving me notifications and just
dies. I will recharge and it dies 2 hours later. My first fitbit lasted
from Jan/15 - May 15; the next was May 15 to Jan 16 and my last from Feb 16
to July 16. I do not charge it until I get a notification that it is low,
and then I charge it fully overnight that night. So I have no idea why
these only last me 5-6 months. I did just buy a new one, but still have
the dead old one. Should I send it in?

No you do not need to send it in. But you should of contacted support they would of offer you a discount.

But you never answered how you are charging it. Computer is best with the charger plugged into the USB port

Also I always charge mine at night but computers do go into sleep mode and if that happens it might not be charging fully. Do you check after charging to see if its full?

Let us know how you are charging it so than maybe we can prevent it from happening to the new one.

I didn't contact them because last time it took a really long time for a
replacement. Maybe I will contact now. I charge on my computer and I do
always check that it is full before I disconnect it.
