Fitbit One Button Missing

I just realized when I went to press the button to see how many steps I'd walked today that the tiny "press button" is gone.  It fell out somewhere, sometime today and I know not where.  Has that happened to anyone else?  If so, were you able to come up with a solution that will work to read the screen as well as set for "sleep" when you go to bed?  I tried using my fingernail and that doesn't work.

Thankfully that has never happened to me but there seem to be quite a few posts from those who have had the issue.

The usual advice was to claim under warranty but I guess your warranty has expired (is this the case?) and given that the One has now been discontinued, replacements may not be available.

I found one thread where someone says:

"You can still operate Fitbit One without menu button. You need to use a paper clip, fine tip ink pen or other pointed object and press that into the button hole and make contact with the metal plate.
I did this for about 8-9 months"

Yes, This just happened to me yesterday.  I've joked that I have the world's oldest Fitbit One that still works great--except that now I can't see my steps on the device, and have to check my phone.  I'm such a Fitbit One fan and really (REALLY) wish, as I've said in other places, that Fitbit would release another clip device with the features of the One.  I hope mine will continue working, even if I can't check the steps directly.

@Claudiatd   I am pleased to let you know that Fitbit has released a new device -- the Fitbit Inspire.  The Inspire comes with a band, but a clip is available as an accessory item.  The Inspire does not track floors, but it has the following features that make it an improvement over the One

  • Swim proof
  • SmartTrack, a feature that auto recognizes several activities
  • Automatic sleep tracking.  It gives sleep patterns, not stages, like the One
  • Notifications from your cell phone

In the US, the Inspire plus the clip are the same price I paid for my One that I bought in 2013.  Definitely worth a look.

@Claudiatd Thanks for visiting the Fitbit Community. Sorry for the delayed response.

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit One button felt off. Like @LZeeW mentioned above, Fitbit just released the Fitbit Inspire which can be worn either on your wrist or on a clip. If you would like to compare the features of the Fitbit products currently available, please check out this site.

@LZeeW Thanks for your support.

I too have a Fitbit One and my button has fallen off.  It’s older than dirt, but I love this tracker and wanted to see if there is a way to get a replacement button so I can continue using this product.

Thank you in advance.

Were you able to get a replacement button for your Fitbit One?  Both my mom’s and my buttons are missing.  I’ve been using a Bobby pin, but it’s a bit annoying if you want to see your stats on the fly.

Thank you.
