Fitbit One Calorie count ?

Hi i bought my Fitbit One yesturday and i set it up, i am just trying to lose some weight because over the last few years i have pilled it on and i now weight over 21 stone, i am just wondering if the FitBit is correct with its calorie count because this morning i got out of bed and walked around 20 feet and it was saying i have burnt over 700 calories, surely this cant be correct.

I think your One is working fine.

 

As well as tracking calories you burn through activity, your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings (age, weight etc) so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing is the total BMR calories since midnight.
