Fitbit One won't reset to zero

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning the display still showed yesterday's total steps. The time is correct. It knows it's the a.m. now. I tried the charger fix but it doesn't reset. I synced and yesterday's total is recorded for both yesterday and today. I've had the other problem of FitBit going to sleep and not recording steps but I've never been "awarded" duplicate steps before. Any ideas?

Thanks for your suggestion about trying the driving activity. It didn't actually solve the problem because all those steps just pre-existed, they didn't actually take place during the time I was asleep so there was nothing to negate except my 2am trip to the frig. Still, I learned something from your suggestion so thanks.  FitBit reset to zero at midnight the next day so it corrected itself. Just a one-day fluke.

@Harney thanks for the update! @WendyB has definitely made an awesome suggestion. Logging a driving activity can be entered as a workaround. Take a look at this post with a similar issue. Also, to prevent this from happening in the future I suggest trying a restart:

  1. Plug your charging cable into your computer.
  2. Plug your Fitbit One tracker into the charging cable, making sure that the gold contacts on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger.
  3. Hold down your tracker's button for 10-12 seconds.
  4. Remove your tracker from the charging cable and press its button until the screen turns on.

Good luck and feel free to post back! Smiley Happy

I did the restart thing, and I manually logged drive time but just for the period midnight to 8ish am. The extra steps were still there. It did not occur to me to do drive time for an entire 24 hour period but I'll try that if it happens again (this was first instance). On its own FitBit reset to zero on the second midnight, so it was just a single day fluke. Thank you for your suggestions.

I had the same issue with my in late December. I contacted Fitbit support and they weren't able to figure out the issue. This is my second Fitbit product to spaz out (first was a Zip), and they sent a replacement Zip. Like yours, mine reset finally the next day at midnight after showing the previous day's steps (but still counting calories burned). I tried to keep using it until earlier this week where after charging it 3+ times a week the battery would still die after a day or two of use. Now using the replacement as a result. If your battery stops keeping a charge, maybe this issue of it not resetting at midnight is a symptom of a failing battery.
