Fitbit one acting wonky

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A few days ago, my Fitbit one would take a long time to sync with my phone and apps associated with it.  A minor inconvenience, but then it started to go to "sleep" and not count any of my information.  I tried charging it (even though it did not need charging).  Then it got worse and I basically have to hold the button down and it will flash Fitbit 6.60 and then will list information but it will be so inaccurate it is almost worthless.  I have gone from it recording around 11000 steps per day to this past couple days it only recorded 2000 if that.  It is not because of my inactivity, it just keeps going to "sleep" and I cannot get it to stay on.  I tried resetting it with the computer by plugging in the charge cord like your troubleshooting clip said and that did nothing.  Ideas??  I have not had this One for too long, I cannot imagine it is dying already.

Thank you!

I have had my Fitbit One for several years.  It was working fine until the end of April.  I have the same problems.  It is fully charged but not recording anything! Hopefully a fix will happen soon.  I do not like manually logging in estimated steps!

I'm having the opposite issue. Mine is giving me steps I haven't taken yet. Who gets over 3 miles within 5 minutes of waking up?

I came here for the same reason - my One started acting up on May 3rd. My One is fully charged, I have reset it a half a dozen times. It is not recording my steps and it will not turn on. But it is detected by my iphone and windows 10 computer. Was there a new software update? Looking over the community posts it appears this was happening in April and May of 2016 for some people. Is this planned obsolescence? Anyone thinking of changing to a different brand of tracker?

My fit bit one is still recording steps but it hasn't uploaded data to my phone in over 24 hours. My fit bit is fully charged and I've restarted my new phone.  No other Bluetooth issues.  I hope we can get our issues resolved soon!

Mine has been acting up the past few days also.  We are required to partake in a 10,000 step challenge at my husband's work to earn credits towards our health care.  There are also prizes at stake.  Yesterday we went to a community wide garage sale in the morning and took our typical walk (about 7,000 steps) in the afternoon, but my dashboard shows I only walked 8,576.  I have a lot riding on this accurately uploading to our health insurance company.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What worked for me was resetting it at night and leaving it off until the next morning.  When I turned it on the next morning it cleared the ridiculous numbers I was getting. I hope the same will work for for someone else.

I'm having a similar problem: my Fitbit one is still recording steps but it hasn't uploaded data to my phone or laptop for several days.  The "steps" tile has disappeared from both dashboards. My Fitbit is fully charged, I've restarted my phone, deleted and re-installed the app several times.  Tried similar fixes on my laptop.  (No other Bluetooth issues.)

Well, since my warranty was up May 11 of last year, they will not cover it.  I could get a discount, but seriously, who would go back after seeing all of the issues that the One has had?  Obviously there is a flaw in something since I noticed that there were posts of issues back in 2014.  To me that is a design or electronic bug that should still be covered, For it to die less than 2 years after purchase is ridiculous.

Thank you for all of your suggestions.  For those of you that are having the same issues....good luck!

I've had really good luck (It seems) with my One, since 2016 or so. But, I'm having these exact same problems now - 2021!

Weird.

I'm going to try resetting it at night and leaving it off until the next morning, which seemed to help someone back in 2017!

Thanks for your replies.

I may have to replace it, I'm afraid, and that makes me very sad.
