How do I switch from using my Mac to my iPad to sync?

I don't want to replace my existing FitBit device, I want to replace using my Mac (with dongle) to sync, and use my iPad (bluetooth) instead. Why? Because this dongle is not working! I've tried restarting my computer. I've tried restarting my One, per instructions on the FitBit website. Still nothing. The FitBit icon at top right of my screen has an exclamation point next to it and the "Couldn't Find Wireless Sync Dongle" line is grayed out. So is the "Sync Now" line. The "Open Main Menu" line was grayed out a few minutes ago, but not now. Don't understand why it changed.

Anyway, I thought maybe I could use the iPad insteada of Mac/dongle to sync, but don't know how to make that switch. Help!

@NinaJean,

Go to https://www.fitbit.com/setup, it will have the correct link to the Fitbit App.

I don't own an iOS device, but based on the screenshot try this for the account (see circled):

I hope this helps.

Hello @NinaJean,

It's actually surprisingly easy:

  1. Install the Fitbit App from the App Store.
  2. Log in with your existing account details (in other words, click "Log in" and not "Join Fitbit".

That's pretty much it.  No need to pair your tracker, that information is already kept on your account and the Fitbit App establishes that connection on your behalf.  If you want to sync immediately:

  1. Click on the 'Account' icon at the bottom.
  2. Tap on the picture of your tracker (the One).
  3. Select 'Sync Now'.

I hope this helps.

I did install an app on my iPad called Fitbit Dashboard and it has the
Fitbit logo on it. There are other apps, that appear to be 3rd party. Did I
choose the right one? So now I'm logged onto my Fitbit account, using this
app. But I don't see an "Account" icon at the bottom. I'm in the Dashboard.
My other screen options in this app are: Log, Community, Premium, and
Store. Which screen do I want to be in and what does the "Account" icon
look like? Really want to sync from iPad. I thought it'd be easier. But
apparently not...at least for me!

Thanks for your help!

Thank you. I did not have the right app! I see now, with the right app, how the iPad and One auto sync. Awesome...and I am dongle free. 😉
