There is no factory reset option for the One but there isn't really a need for one. If your other half sets up a new fitbit account and adds the One as a new device it will delete any data on it and reassign from your account to the new account.
I lost my one and just got a new one but it is not syncing with the dashboard. the directions say to try a factory reset and try again, but now I'm reading I can't do that on a One? Help?

When you got your new One did you add it as a new device in the fitbit app? Did it fail in that setup or did it setup ok but has now stopped syncing?
Although there is no factory reset for the One there is a restart procedure which is much the same as rebooting a PC. The instructions can be found here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/
What instructions are you following that suggests a factory reset?
