Hi there. I got a gift of a FitBit One as a friend of mine got an upgrade for Christmas. After setting up my own acct on the app on my iPhone and following directions to sync it, I am seeing her info for steps, calories, etc from months ago. How do I factory reset this thing so I can use it? All the posts I looked at said it should have done that when I setup my own acct, but alas, it didn't. 😑

The calories burn are your BMR

The calories burned are BMR calories. Your fitbit also calculates calories burned for your BMR. You burn calories just by being alive! Even Sleeping. Fitbit includes these burned calories in it's calorie calculations, so even if you did not wear the fitbit, you'll still burn these calories.

Welcome to the Community @Saralyn0704! As @WendyB mentioned the calories you're getting are based on your BMR.  Once you set up your tracker to your account, it will track all your activities based on your personal information. After syncing your activities recorded, satay safe on your account and not in your tracker.

Hope this helps!
