I will never wear something on my wrist... does that mean Fitbit doesn't want me as a customer?

I bought a Fitbit one in 2014 and have loved it since... but lately it's been acting up and sporadically dropping batches of steps.

I'd like to replace it with another one or something similar, does this make me a horrible person? It's not that people who show off tech on their wrists are often insufferable (which they are), but the fitbit one has a timeless quality to it that most industrial design products just don't have nowadays.

I've been to Fitbit's offices in SF and have chatted with their lead designers (although, not about this), they seem like nice people... so what's up?

Have you considered the fitbit Inspire? There is an optional clip available for this so that you can wear it like you do with the One.

I started with the One years ago (and still have it!) and I agree that it's a shame that Fitbit no longer seem interested in the clip-on style.

@kapor you've gotten 6 years out of a tracker which was slated to last for 3, that's fantastic! no, it doesn't make one a bad person to purchase a new tracker to best optimize their health. as you've got contacts at Fitbit in engineering, perhaps they can get you some kind of employee special discount, but I don't know. as SteveH shared, you can use the inspire with an optional clip. until then, I'd make sure to synchronize it frequently to minimize losing steps.

Appreciate the responses @WendyB (and @Williger / @SteveH !) looks like it's time to open up my little companion here and change the battery... will keep you posted.

Side note: cringing while reading my initial post as it's layered in sarcasm (apologies!)

This times 100. I don't wear watches, and the things I like about the One aren't included in the Inspire: alarm and flights of stairs tracking. So when my One dies I'll be looking elsewhere for a replacement.

I’ve never understood why people want to wear on activity tracker on their wrist every day of their life, in every place they go and with every thing they wear.

No wonder people buy them and leave them in a drawer!

A clip one can be tucked away out of view but still doing its job.

It’s  the much better option but one that Fitbit doesn’t want to promote
