I wish to be completely invisible to the world

I bought a fitbit one last week (and already love it). However....

I was very disconcerted yesterday when a friend with a fitbit remarked out of the blue "I see you have bought a fitbit one". I want to be invisible to the whole world. I am not on Facebook and have never Tweeted. I have set  all my privacy settings to "You" (=just me), and set Preferences/Friends Rankings to "Hide me". Is this sufficient? (I have searched but not found an answer to this in the Help Forums).

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @LesterZ. It's great to have you here. Now that you have set your personal settings to only be viewed by you and hidden your rankings, no one will be able to see you or hear your steps when you are around.
