My original 2012 Fitbit One found its way into the soaking sink last night and I think it was there for at least 45 minutes before being discovered. Right now it is in a jar of rice. Is there ANY possibility this wasn't a fatal swim?

Oh my! @BKFERGUS the One seems to be quite the resilient device and let's hope the rice does the trick. There are those who have replaced the internal battery in it and that might be an option for you. Once in the rice for about 48 hours, clean all connecting points and then charge it and restart it. Let us know what happens.

IT'S ALIVE!!! After 48 hours in rice I took it out, cleaned the connections with isopropyl alcohol and put it in the charger. Two hours later I checked it and praise be IT'S WORKING!!! Synced just as normal. So delighted!!

What a miracle for you @BKFERGUS and proof that a little patience can be rewarded. I know the One owners love their devices. My regret is never having bought one of them!

That's great news @BKFERGUS
5 seems to be the lucky number for me anyways. I washed it and dried it 5 times. Put it in Rice every time. But number 5 killed it. I did change the battery per @PureEvil post this last time. So its still alive now. I have come to the conclusion I should not wear it on my Pants 🤣🤣😂
Its at the top of the forum if you ever need it
