Little Blips or end of my One?

I've had my One for over 4 years now.  Apart from the case, never had a problem with it until a few weeks back and now I seem to be having problem after problem.

First the battery seemed to be going - charged in 2 minutes, lost all power in 2 hours.  After about 5 resets over a couple of days, it eventually seemed to be OK and back to normal.  All working fine for a week or so then I was on holiday (abroad) last week and I noticed that the time was wrong - about 2 hours out.  I was on the same time zone so couldn't work out why, but due to no laptop and rubbish internet I was unable to do either another reset or sync, so just left it, and kept wearing the fitbit.

Today, I tried to sync.  It hadn't been synced for 2 weeks, so expected it to take a while, but I had lots of 'unexpected error' messages and I had to do a reset/restart before it finally did sync. After it synced I noticed it saying 0 steps.  Looking at my dashboard it is saying that I haven't done any activity since Wednesday.  My fitbit has been with me all the time, I've even checked the fitbit during the days to check steps, but they've all gone.

Does anyone have any ideas?  Does it sound like my One is on its way to fitbit heaven or have I just been unlucky with a  number of odd events?  Did I leave it too long between syncing?

Thanks.

Some folks have too much time on their hands, they can't just appear on your friends list without you accepting them so it's all good.  Remember legitimate friend requests come through the fitbit dashboard messaging system, not through email so treat unsolicited emails as phishing expeditions just like the fake UPS, IRS, FedEx and "dear beloved one" ones you get 🙂

You can turn off private messaging, if that becomes an issue, in the fitbit messaging system by logging into your account on a PC and going to https://community.fitbit.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-preferences "Private Messanger" and unchecking its box (be sure to hit the save button after you clear the tick box)

Hope this helps @nadasy

Thank you.  The next step was to call, but I have to leave for work shortly, so when I get home I will call.

Let me reiterate.  I NEVER received a 'friend' request from this person.  She just appeared on my list - not as a friend, but to let me know that she had passed me by 24K steps...that kind of thing.  I have contacted a Moderator privately 3 times since July and no response from them.

Yesterday she appeared on my Dashboard as a friend. There was NO invitation sent, and NONE requested, so when the reply to my question starts with:

Obviously I have not explained  my predicament so that it is understood.  I am well aware of phishing and did NOT receive any emails.  The photo and text appeared on my friend request list-there was NO EMAIL contact.  I do not have Private Messenger on----------

I will contact by phone this afternoon.  Thank you Wendy for this suggestion.
