Lost Fitbit- can it say it synced recently when it actually hasn’t?

I lost my Fitbit One a couple of weeks ago and had no luck using all of the apps to find it, so figured it was gone for good and went back to using an old Fitbit Zip.  However, I noticed yesterday that my Fitbit app was showing that the One had recently synced. I have had it open in the app often since then and it keeps saying that it is “Looking...” so it doesn’t show that it found it, but every so often the last time of syncing will update to a few minutes ago (like right now it is 1:40 and it says it last synced at 1:02). It even said that when I was out doing errands yesterday- so either the One is in my car or my purse, which I’ve completed combed through, or the time of last sync is incorrect. Does anyone know if that’s possible? If not, then why wouldn’t the apps be finding its signal and why does it always say Looking but is somehow still syncing occasionally? I’m so confused! Thanks!

Oh, also to add... it was telling me yesterday that the battery was very low and today it says that the battery is full. I obviously didn’t charge it since I can’t find it! So that’s another reason I’m thinking the message about it having synced must be incorrect somehow.

@Ali1352 Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with your Fitbit One. It's unfortunate that it got lost. Thanks for sharing all of those details.

Did you had any luck finding it? If the Fitbit app is showing that it synced, is because the One should be close to the location in which the app synced (about 15 to 20 meters). Usually, the Bluetooth finder apps showing on this article will track the location of the One to find it.

The battery situation is strange. By any chance, do you have any other tracker paired to your account?

@WendyB Thanks for sharing your experience on this thread.
