One stuck on FW update

I am unable to connect my fitbit one with firware 6.64 to my iphone 5 with iOS 11.2.6.  I have tried for hours adding this device to my account in the fitbit app.  When I try to pair them by entering the number on the fitbit in my mobile app, the app says "The operation couldn't be completed (com.fitbit.HTTP error 400).  I have also tried to pair the fitbit with my windows 10 PC and I get a similar error.

 

I have tried an array of suggestions found on the net.  I have tried rebooting both devices in every configuration I could think of.  I have tried pairing with wifi off on my phone.  There are no other bluetooth devices around and I have sold my soul to Satan without any luck.

@jsmalridge Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for trying all of those troubleshooting steps you were able to find online.
