If your One works fine, but your having issues with the phone, yes there is no reason to buy a new one.
Let's figure out what to do with the phone.
What phone do you have?
Removed the One from the phone's bluetooth
Turned off/on bluetooth
Restarted phone and One?
Shutdown both phone and one
Force stopped the Fitbit app?
Cleared the firbit cache
