Sudden increase in stair count

Hi,

I have had my Fitbit One for almost a year now.  I understand how the altimeter works and never had a problem with fewer flights since not all flights of stairs are 10 feet.  A few days ago, my fit bit registered 80 floors!  While I usually get my stairs in, I know I did not do 80 flights of stairs.  This morning after going down a flight of stairs, it registered 4 flights.  I have done 2 flight this morning and it is registering 14.  I did go out to the community where it recommended restarting my Fitbit One but it still increased my stair count when I did not climb any stairs.  I have not dropped it gotten it wet, or in anyway shocked it.  Any one else experiencing any problems with their Fitbit Ones?  Any solutions?

Thank you!

If there's not extreme wind.. there may be something wrong with the altimeter. Since having the tracker for less than a year, there may still be warranty (if purchased the tracker newly).

Mine has been doing this the last couple of days too. I have seen this before but then it clears and starts working correctly again. My device is over 2 years old.

Mine has done this on occasion as well ! Never 80 flights, but certainly more than I've actually climbed. Some days it's accurate and some days not. I've only had my device for about 3 months Max.
