Sync problems amongst others...

Recieved my One through the post yesterday from Amazon and now beginning to feel like I may have wasted my money. Checking for suitability of the App for my device (Sony Xperia, Android) I was informed that it was. Downloaded it and it won't sync. Tried all suggestions; reboot One, turn phone off and on etc. all to no avail. Tried downloading software for my computer (running Windows XP) and it won't open. So at this moment I have a One with the wrong time on it, as I can't sync it with anything and there doesn't appear to be any way of adjusting the time setting, and hence it'll reset iteself at some random time of day rather than midnight, and no way of keeping track of anything. And now rather than exercise I am spending vast amounts of time sat down trying to sort the problems out - I think that might qualify as irony. Hugely disappointed.

There are a lot of different Sony Xperias. Which one do you have?

Did you download the Fitbit Connect software specifically for Windows XP?

Model is Sony Xperia Miro. Downloaded the app from the Google play website - where it automatically tells you if your device is suitable for the app. It was. The computer software download was the one the fitbit website directed me to. I'm assuming it automatically detected what operating system I have? Initially it wouldn't download as my anti virus software was blocking it. Overcame that problem, so the program now resides in my downloads folder, but won't respond if I try to open or run it.

Just tried going in to Bluetooth settings on my phone. It acknowledges the existance of the One and offers me the option of pairing them together. When I try I get the message on my phone "Couldn't pair with One because of incorrect PIN or passkey"

Hello @MugbyJunction, welcome aboard to our Community. And thank you for letting us know the model of your Xperia. Perhaps I can assist you with this as I use an Xperia too to sync my tracker. Note that when you set up your tracker with the mobile app, the way to do this is different as you do with other devices. Note that if you go to your bluetooth settings it will ask a PIN or Passkey. In order to set up is require to use the Fitbit app, however since your post has been around for a few days, I got the feeling that you were able to sync the tracker by now. I'm curious to know how it goes?

Keep me posted, I'll be here if you need more help.

Hi Roberto and thank you for your interest. I haven't really resolved any of the issues so far. However with the help of a friend and his phone I have at least managed to set the time correctly. Final conclusion regarding using my phone is that I have the wrong bluetooth release i.e. my phone uses bluetooth v2.1, and as I understand it fitbit gadgets use bluetooth smart - and the two won't  recognise each other.

As to using my computer, I finally managed to install the fitbit download (turns out my computer had automatically blocked the 'open' option - never had that happen before). Once installed and with the dongle plugged in I opend the program only to have a box open up telling me I didn't have an internet/network connection - which I did - and after clicking on the 'close' option in the box, the program shut down.

I have pretty much given up any hope of having access to the One with my existing phone and computer hardware.
