Hello @Harrietsmummy1,
Welcome to the community!
Any chance that you allowed your Fitbit's battery to completely expire? The reason I ask is because the Fitbit behaves like a wall clock with respect to how it keeps time. It keeps time perfectly fine while it has power, when the battery expires it stops keeping time, when charged it starts to track time precisely where it left off...
So I'm guessing that you charged it and started to use it before you synced it. Syncing your Fitbit after having it completely go dead is the appropriate way to get the time set again.
The good news is that you got credit for all those steps.
The bad news is that they were credited for the wrong day (likely the day your Fitbit went dead).
I hope this helps.

Hello @Harrietsmummy1, I've seen you have received help and great suggestions from @PureEvil. I'm curious to know how it goes so far, is the issue persisting on a daily basis yet? I bet everything is fine by now I just want to give follow up with you.
Hope to hear from you soon and happy stepping.
