Used fitbit linked to previous owner

So I bought a Fitbit from eBay and apparently the previous owner never removed his account from it so it's still linked to his phone how can I link it to mine. It's a charge 2

If you add to your account as though it were a new tracker then it will delete any data left on it and reassign it to your account. As long as his phone is out or bluetooth range then that should not be an issue.

Did you get this solved in the other thread where you raised this issue?

 

If not, try Fitbit's troubleshooting guide at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1872

 

And we also need to face the possibility of the fitbit being defective. If this is the case you won't be covered by a warranty given you got it from eBay

As @SteveH points out, as long as you are at least a couple hundred feet away from the old owner. Having it attached to his account is not a problem.

Is the One charged and on? 

Have you tried a restart?

  • Put the One in its charger
  • Plug charger into power
  • Hold button until tracker restarts.
