automatic step count vs logged activity

Hi,

I noticed that the steps tracker keeps counting while i'm horsebackriding.

Obviously i'm not the one walking at that moment.

I would have thought the counted steps would be discarted after logging the activity on the dashboard, but that just adds up extra "activity points". The steps during the horsebackriding remain considered as activity from my side.

Is there any way i can remove the automatically recorded steps for the period I am riding?

When you manually log an activity that isn't step based (such as horseriding) it will overwrite the calories and active minutes that were tracked at the time with those for the manual entry. If will leave any tracked steps as they were but because the calories and active minutes have been overwritten there is no double counting.

If you manually log an activity that is step based (such as walking) then it will overwrite the steps as well.

The only way to remove steps is to manually log the driving activity but I'm not sure what this would do to your horseriding entry.

Thanks.

I didn't really check the calories. I was only looking at the steps.

The 'issue' is mainly when the fitbit app synchornises with the weightwatchers app. That one looks at the logged steps AND the manually logged horseriding. so there it does get counted twice. ;-(

i'll raise the issue with the weightwatchers people. 🙂
