powering on fitbit one

I just bought the fitbit one and it wont power on. when I set it up on the app it finds it, but then it ask for a number to verify that one is mine, but the screen is black.

Is there a chance that someone else nearby (roommate or neighbor) has a Fitbit One?  If so it may be picking theirs up.  Try to pair your Fitbit when you're far away from theirs.
