I have the 001 code along with the blinking diamond pattern and a red light on the back. When I tried to sync my Fitbit, the device couldn’t be found. I have tried restarting to no avail. What next?

I have just opened the box on a brand new Charge 4 and got this error. I have tried this, after trying all other instructions - turning off Bluetooth and on, installing app and reinstalling, updating phone and so on and so on.

Unfortunately this hasn’t worked and on the second connection to the charger no smiley face appears. Can you please suggest how to fix this?

Had the same problem with an altra.  Left it to charge for a day noting the connection. Charged and working. Could battery be fully discharged?God Loves You

1/20- 2/20. THREE watches. Third worked 1.5 years. Fibit offers discount on replacement. $150 for1.5 yrs.  I feel ripped off. Good luck.God Loves You

It's junk they returned mine keep your old band and charger they'll give
you the watch replacement.

Unknown, it didn't for me.  Supposedly they are 'working' on the issue.

Well this blows. Less than a year ago i was given a replacement because my
first Charge 3 died after lounging in a pool (it was less than a year old).
The replacement just crapped after a heavy sweat (i don't really know if
that was what caused all the vibrating and then error 001). This
replacement is not under warranty (warranty goes with the first purchase)
so "Sorry!" you lose. No replacement. (I did get a $25 coupon, big deal.)

I will be looking for something else...

Yes call Fitbit for a refund.  Fitbit does not have a cure for the subsequent "dim screen" unless they can remediate the problem now.  Fitbit is said to be working on a fix.  They are now I would assume more focused on the new unitit Charge 4.

I called customer service and ended up returning my previous face. They
sent a new one.

If there is no fix for the dim screen on yours or mine out of magic warranty, then how are you to have confidence in a replacement?  Is Fitbit living up to the warranty and playing a waiting game?  All fitbit needs is a year and a day. then what?

They have lived up to warranty. I'm on my 3rd fit bit face. I will likely
get a better smart watch when this one dies a d warranty is out.

Yes Fitbit does keep us with one ticking till the warranty runs out.
