I work 3rd shift and I got a Fitbit charge 3 to track my fitness at work... The problem is that Fitbit's Hourly Activity Goal can only be set to start during the AM hours --But I start my day in the evening. I don't need reminders to take steps while I'm asleep... Will there be a fix in an update soon? My manager also has a Fitbit and she works the same shift I do.I think there are probably quite a few people who want to use Fitbit but who don't keep traditional workday hours. Also, could the sleep monitor be tuned to include smaller "naps" that are 1-4 hours rather than a single period of sleep? I feel like a lot of my achievements aren't being recognized by Fitbit because I'm most active when one day turns into the next.

There's a popular feature suggestion to amend the "reminder to move" function to allow for night shift workers. If you'd like to add your vote you can find it here:
Note though fitbit's comment that they don't currently have plans to make this change.

The irony here is that people who work 3rd shift generally get way more exercise from their job... But Fitbit is catering to the daytime desk-dwellers. Oh well, I don't rule the world just yet...

My workaround to this was switching my phone's time to another timezone. not sure though if that works for you.

That would reduce its functionality as a timepiece.

Yes, some of us, myself included, need a watch. In my field there are workplaces that have banned the use of cell phones depending on the area you work, for safety reasons. It's not banned where I work but using a cell phone is frowned upon unless you are on a lunch break.
I work rotating 12hr shifts and sadly I do not think any changes will be made regarding your requests. Society tends to give night shift people the middle finger, in general. The world will always run around the day shift people. It sucks but at least there are some advantages to this schedule.....in my field anyway.
