A8 recognizes fitbit but won't pair with it

My samsung A8 has (for several weeks now) been not syncing with my charge 2. Following the steps of a samsung technician via live chat, I reset my network connections (which means I had to repair my charge 2). No when I go through the steps to "set up a new device" in the app, it recognizes/finds my tracker, sends me the code, and then can't complete the connection.

Anyone able to help? My tracker doesn't even show the correct time now so it's literally useless.

Actually @Lauran5895 resetting your network or phone will not remove the Charge 2 from your Fitbit account and therefore the Charge 2 did not need to be setup again.

Does your Charge 2 receive the code?

Does the app allow you to enter the code?

If so, what happens next?

Yes the app sends the code to my fitbit and then allows me to enter the
code back into my phone. Then my phone just says connecting until it times
out and says "Oops something went wrong, we are unable to connect at this
time"

If you have a samsung tablet, try loading Fitbit on there. I was able to get mine to sync with my A8.

Had exact same problem with Charge 2 and A70.  Changed phone from Note4.  Tried all the recommended steps.  Unpaired from old phone, switched off bluetooth, restarted fitbit a number of times, even removed device from account.  Phone shows Charge 2 as an available device, finds it, sends code, but when code entered, process just spins and times out.  Had this problem for over a month since I got new phone.  Can't reconnect to old phone either now.  Fitbit is well over a year old, and had problems synching before, but always managed to overcome them.  Device now useless for long term tracking.

See my separate post.  I also had the problem and after seeing this solution decided to give it a try.  Installed Fitbit on an old Nexus tablet and tried there.  Although said connection was taking some time, it didn't time out and eventually connected.  It was then able to install available firmware updates and has synced to my account.  I can now view the results on my phone and presumably will also be able to sync.

Seems the answer is to try other devices in order to be able to force the connection and update firmware.
