I just recently got the charge 2 after my first charge took a crap. Either way, i have noticed that my charge 2 doesnt always record my active minutes. Its frustrating to see i work hard and get no show for my work. Any suggestions?

@RJRose, welcome to the forums! By default, if you do at least 10 minutes of moderate to intense exercise, that time will be tracked as active minutes. However if you don't reach that time and reset your exercise, the minutes will be lost and won't count as active minutes. To learn more about how the active minutes work, please take a look at what I posted above.

It seems to me that the number of minutes of activity before active minutes are logged should be a personally configurable setting.  If I want 5 continuous minutes of exercise to be considered "active", rather than 10 (or, more importantly, if I want 4 five-minute bursts of exercise to be considered 20 active minutes rather than zero), I should be able to tell the Fitbit to do that.  I assume that's not possible at the moment, but it would be a good feature to add in the future.

Hi there,

I've been reading everything and anything I can find on missing active minutes, but none of the "solutions" are working.

I have a Charge 2. When exercising it logs and displays my minutes. Upon completion of my exercise it shows in the excercise log my active minutes. The next time I login my active minutes are 0. In the exercise log for the particular exercise it shows "114 min. of 0 active min." My total active minutes are zeroed.

I have tried to set the tracker to active, I tried for it to self detect the exercise, but it all leads to the same result with 0 active minutes. I am beginning to get really frustrated! I even stoped synchronizing my Strava data and had to resort to using Strava as my main analyzing tool for my workouts. I never had this issue with my Charge HR.

please let me know how to fix this. As I mentioned before, nothing in the forum seems to resolve the problem.

 Best,

Marion

Hello Heydy,

My wife and I both have a Charge 2. Mine works fine but on her's the active minutes and calories are not.

Today we did three walks with a total of 168 minutes. I get 167 active minutes logged and she only gets 44 minutes. I get 1403 calories for these three walks and she only gets 327. My total calories for the day at 6:20pm are 3388 and her's are 922. The only difference I see is that my heart rate is 12-14 bpm higher than hers. I am around 115 and she is around 100. But also when she runs on the treadmill and has set the Charge2 to treadmill mode it does not count active minutes correctly. Sometimes she gets 0.

We approached fitbit with the issue. They sent her a replacement tracker, but the problem stays the same. Is there an issue with the iphone 6s? I have the iphone 6, she has a 6s.

I would appreciate any input on this. She gets quite frustrated over time. I am quite ok, because I win every day, although she is more active 😀😀 (just kidding).

Thank you!

Best regards

Philipp

Something's definitely off and perhaps it is the app. I have an I phone 7 and had a problem with active minutes when I first got my Fitbit but it seems to have resolved itself over the past few weeks, I put it down to an app update.

I walk in the mall every day at the same pace the whole time & what my fit bit zip tracker is doing (all of a sudden) is dropping a whole bar out in the middle of the walk (which has not been even slowed let alone interrupted) so I will have several lines of green bars and then a completely blank one for five minute period right in the middle of it registering zero steps for that 5 min time frame even though I was continuously walking. This has happened on several occasions and it took me until I started specifically tracking every move so I could make sure I was following the protocol to realize that not only was it dropping a whole bar out it wasn't counting the steps at all during that timeslot. So for example if I started at the top of the hour and walked 60 min going 500steps every 5 minutes,  at the end of the hour instead of registering 6000 steps it with only register 5500 on the graph, and 55 minutes of active minutes, but my step count on the fit bit itself would be at the full 6000. I'm using these numbers as a rounded off example but the concept is the same.  Up until recently I would track my minutes by starting the clock and looking at that already active minutes before I started my daily walk to make sure and they always showed up exactly as I was doing them as long as I didn't stop in the middle thus breaking the chain of 10 minutes or more. This incident that has been happening recently is very new and  wondering if I need to update my zip in someway?

If I am racking up over 16000 steps in a day I know there is active minutes and yet I still had NONE recorded for the last 2 days .. frustrating

Yesterday (8/17/2017), my active minutes were never recorded, both from my regular activity during the day and my specific active minutes from when I press the button in active mode. Today my active minutes were not recorded from my morning workout.

I went into the log activity mode and entered my time, but that doesn't show up either. Is there something I can do to reset this?

Note: FYI: As if this morning, I'm not able to input water.

Are my Workout minutes supposed to be included in the Active minutes? Sometimes they are not, only showing under Exercise. Thanks!

What if your Fitbit completely stops tracking you active minutes? The last two days I have had no active minutes at all. I have never had a day without active minutes until 2 days ago. It recorded everything else correctly

I just worked nonstop for 8 hours, no real standing stll, almost 60 floors, and it says no active minutes.   Noticed it's done that for a while!

Did you ever get active minutes for this time, @Tracylovesbeer

2 things: 1) I find that when I input my water usage, it somehow spurs the steps and active minutes to update.

2) I find that if nothing works to sync my steps and/or active minutes, I turn off my phone completely, then turn it back on, and somehow it spurs an update.

No, it’s random and I gave up… I just make a note in my journal that says how many minutes I actually did (active), usually 60 or 90 etc. and the phone app only shows some random number that’s less.

There is definitely a glitch, but I guess Fitbit would rather have us banter back-and-forth and complain about it than actually do anything to fix it.
