Activity Zone Minutes don't match with actual activities on Charge 4

Hey there does anyone else have Active Zone minutes information that doesn't match with the information on their actual activities? Today it says I was in the Active Zone for 120 minutes but my activity information only amounts to 100 minutes

I suspect you are confusing confusing 'time in Active Zones' with 'Active Zone Minutes'.

On phone app, click on Zone Minutes circles and read:

"Earn 1 Zone Min for 1 minute in fat burn zone.

Earn 2 Zone Mins for 1 minute in cardio or peak zone."

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I found this when looking at exercise and figured out a way to calculate the difference between fat burn and cardio. Subtract the smaller number from the larger number and that number represents cardio minutes .

if you subtract the Cardium minutes from the smaller number you will get the number of minutes and fat burn. If my calculations are correct I would say that you had 20 minutes in cardio and 80 minutes in fact burn. This is my observation and I believe it is correct.

I have found that doing this is easier when I am on the exercise screens been going back-and-forth between exercise and active minute screens.

Hi

Thanks for replying however this doesn't explain why my total minutes were
122 but my activity information only lists 100 minutes!

Nope no confusion! My total time in all zones was 122 minutes but my activity information only adds up to 100 minutes. I think the missing information is when active zone times are short, maybe one or two minutes. Fitbit used to show all minutes but not now I don't think

Sorry, but there are several places listing exercise times.  I can't offer any more explanation without knowing exactly which screens you are getting which data from, preferably via screen shots.

It's all on the one screen, as you can see the overall minutes don't match
the activity minutes

But that doesn't tell me which one screen.

The only time I ever had an issue with active minute scores not adding up was the one time I did not have cell service and was unable to connect with the Internet. The value on the home screen did not match

Sent from my iPhone use on the second screen. Before I lost connection that burn cardio and peak totaled 27. By then close that screen then continue to walk and lost cell service at that time the home screen value was 38.g

Sometime later I clicked on active minutes on the home screen and saw that the total steps had increased and the fat burn and cardio and peak had not changed and was still 27. I periodically checked to see what happened and again the total on the second screen continued to grow. The Fitbit tracker provides information updating the total on the second screen. When I later connected with the Internet everything updated and all of the numbers matched without issue. Hope this was helpful. I thought it was an interesting observation.

Ugh I have this issue too. I did a 42 minute workout and somehow got 76 active zone minutes. Wtf. This algorithm makes no sense.

@Cheziem  Please read the "Best Answer" above.  I think you will see it totally does make sense.

I know it's some sort of glitch as even if you take the minutes in cardio
and peak zones and double them it still doesn't add up!

In the past this has worked for me from 76 subtract 42 this will give you 34 which equals cardio and pee. Now subtract from 40 to 34 this eight which is that burn. I haven’t done this recently and if things haven’t changed this should work for you.

I did but it isn't a good answer. I shouldn't get extra minutes when minutes are always 60 seconds.

Sent from my iPhone sorry it didn’t work. I will have to start checking my data more closely. Hopefully a for moderator or member of the community council and inform us as to what is happening.

I am starting to notice small changes now that Google software developers are working with Fitbit developers to improve the software. Like everyone else I wish that the changes would occur faster and they would inform us when they occur.

Just curious, look at any day of your Active Zone Minutes.  Underneath the total "Zone Min" number, there are two numbers: "Fat Burn" and "Cardio & Peak".  Are these numbers adding up, i.e., do the fat burn and cardio & peak numbers add up to the total "Zone Min" numbers? I checked my numbers and they add up each day.  This means that active zone minutes are not calculated 1 for 1.
