Alarm disappeared of App

Up until yesterday, I had a function on my Fitbit Charge 3's app to be able to set a silent alarm.  I just went into my app again now, because I needed to set an alarm to get me up for an early start at work tomorrow, and the Alarm setting part of my app has completely disappeared.

When I go into my app and click on Charge 3, the only things it lists for me now are "Wrist", "Notifications", "Reminders to Move", "Main Goal", and "Exercise Shortcuts".  There is no mention whatsoever of "Alarms" as there used to be (which I think previously was listed before "Notifications").  Why might this be, and how am I to set an alarm for my Fitbit now please?

I've tried exiting out of the app and going back in again, turning my iPad off and back on again, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app, but there is still no Alarm setting option as there had been previously.

I understand that the recent firmware update for the Charge 3 moved the alarm management from the phone app to the fitbit itself. Also, note this message from Fitbit:

"We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.

To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set."

Note that the "repeat" settings are a little hidden. Once you have set an alarm, swipe up to see the repeat settings.

Thanks for the reply!  I just did the update, it appears you can only set for ‘tomorrow’? Before you could set for weekdays or certain days. Can you elaborate more on your experience or do we have to set an alarm everyday?

I don't have my Charge 3 anymore so cannot test. Hopefully someone else will post an answer for you.

I updated also but no alarm icon on my Fitbit.  Can I force the update again to try to get the icon?

I hate that you can only do the alarms on the fitbit. The writing is so small that i have a very hard time seeing it.  Wish they would put it back on the app.

Best Answer

Seconded. This really is a step backwards in functionality, because I now can't set how the alarms repeat by day (one alarm for weekdays, another for weekends, etc).

Not that I know of...

Agreed Damian - we now can only set on the FitBit watch itself and it has to be done each time.
I personally set the FitBit for my mother-in-law as a reminder for her medications. She will not be able to set everyday on her own. It is a pain.

I did some more digging into the settings on the tracker. Under the "Repeats" option, you can select which specific day the alarm will repeat on.

More difficult than with the app, but at least the functionality is there.

There is no ‘app’ on my Fitbit device after the update. WTH?  Now I can’t set any alarms!

The only ‘settings’ I find on my tracker are:DND. SLEEP. SCREEN WAKE.  And it seems only one of these may be in effect at a time. I don’t even know what DND is. Do not disturb?

The Charge 3 doesn’t appear to have a ‘Repeats’ option that I can see...

It’s not as easy now but it does work (for me anyway). It’s different after the update being only on the charge3 itself, but I’ve set daily and weekly repeats which, after a week, are working correctly.

@Idonotcook from the main clock screen of the Charge 3, swipe left and look for the "alarms" app

And just to be clearer, once you have an alarm set, swipe up until you see repeats. You will then get the chance to select exactly which day you want that alarm to work on.

The precise details like this probably should be in the ticked response post, because it's not immediately obvious that this functionality is there (like more than a few options in the new firmware update).

Good idea @Damian_R  - I've edited the post

Never mind. Thank you for the swipe left instruction.

@Idonotcook I don't understand why you don't have the alarms app. It should be just a case of pressing the button to show the clock, then swiping left until you see the alarms app. If you don't get an answer from someone posting in this thread then it may be worth contacting customer support via contact.fitbit.com - they may be able to check that your Charge 3 update went through ok
