Will Fitbit ever allow 3rd party integration either directly with the device itself or at least with the sensor data? The idea has been tabled before on the precipice of increased battery drain. I for one wouldn’t care if I had to recharge my device before and after a 45-minute bike ride if I could get at least close to real-time heart rate data from my Fitbit that is logged into my app (I use Cyclemeter as do a lot of other folks I’m sure). I’d rather not have to buy and wear a second sensor just for that because I paid a good amount of money for my Fitbit Charge 3 and would do so again for a Charge 4 because I like the streamlined look, feel, and price of my Charge versus the astronomical price of an Apple Watch.
