App requires frequent phone restarts and often asks for password which it usually rejects

I am on my fourth fitbit and never had problems like htis.

For my  device to connect II have to restart my phone, wohch is a Moto G Power running Android 11 and the currrent AP.

Typically I get about half way through synching and then it stops working  until I restart the phone again.

Entering exercise almost always requires another fresh restart and the first time is almost always drops the exercise type. When it does take it usually then resets the start time to the present.

If I try to synch after the phone has been on for more than few minutes it always asks for my password to log in and tells me it is wrong.  Restart and I still have to log in but now it does take the password.

I am writing this so others with teh same issue can learn how much fun it is to use the Fitnbit Ap.

My experience with customer service has been that these work arounds are less aggravating than spending the time with them when one is availalble..

@NHDrjon , Nice to see you around. Thank you  for your feedback and for sharing how you are solving this.

Please on the phone go to the settings>Apps>Fitbit App and clear cache.

Restart your phone and log in into the Fitbit app..

Let me know if the issue persists.

Thanks.  I did the cache erase and it would not synch.  Restarting phone fixes problem.

Another "feature"  if teh phone has been on for a while and ap asks for a password do not enter it or let Google enter it.  Ap will reject it and erase ifrom google.  If you see a login when phone and been on more than 5 minutes, reboot.  It will still require login but password will work most of the time but sometimes a=it takes two or three reboots to get it to accept the password.

@NHDrjon , Thank you for your reply and further information.

Does this happens when you are connected to the wifi or mobile data?

In the meantime, please uninstall the Fitbit app. Restart your phone (off/on)

Start your Fitbit app and log in.

See you around.

I have the same results whether on mobil data or local WiFi.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Upon reinstallation it would not take my password. Next reboot got me to requests for permission which after setting resultid in Ap going to blank screen. New reboot came ups with another request but from the app and it did synchronize and as usual dropped the exercise name. When reentering it the AP then set the start time to the present and rejected as in the future. Resetting the time got the excursive entered.
