Battery dies with ten minutes of taking it off the charger.

Hi guys,

My charge 2 has always been reliable up until about two days ago. I went to charge it, which read full battery when I took it off the charger but within ten minutes it would die.

I tried cleaning the battery charger with some qtips dipped in alcohol, have also restarted it numerous times while on charger but the problem persists. Any ideas? I just updated the firmware as well prior to this incident. Anyone encountering the same problem??

That was exactly the problem I was having. What I found with my device is that after the firmware update I would put it on the charger with little or no battery left and 10 minutes later it would say that it was fully charged. Of course there is no way it could fully charge that quickly because before the update it would take about an hour to fully charge from a low battery. I found then when I reset it on the charger after it said it was fully charged it would then show that the battery was low. I tried leaving it on the charger for a couple of hours and I found that no matter how long I charged my device it would die within 5-10 minutes, the longest it lasted was 20 minutes. What I figured out is that once the device says it is fully charged it will not charge any further, so actually getting any more than a 5% charge is pretty much impossible. I've contacted customer support about it and they unfortunately they weren't able to do anything to solve this issue.

I'm reading in a few other forums that this is a widespread issue, similar to how Apple's update made their phoes slower to push consumers to buy a new product. I've contacted customer support and I really hope this is not the issue.
