Battery icon with exclamation mark when plugged in

My fitbit has been dead for a bit now because i stopped wearing it becuase it was not charging and the time was off. i decided I would charge it and try and fix the situation. I plugged it in to charge and it just shows a battery icon with an exclamation mark in the middle. What does this mean?! My fitbit is only a month old..

I was setting up a Charge HR and got this exclamation point when I first plugged it in.

I plugged it in then just let it charge and eventually it just charged nomally and has been fine ever since.

@livgogas Welcome to our Community! @livgogas @Ejm3 The exclamation mark on your tracker could mean one of two things: 1.- its battery is critically low in which case just recharging will correct it (it's just a warning). 2.- That a firmware update was not completed in which case you just need to complete the update. By your description it is the first scenario so just charge your tracker and use it as you would normally do.

I'll be around if you need more help! Robot LOL

I am having this very same issue and I am unable to reset it at all. When I unplug it shows a full battery but then just shuts down. Replug it in and the exclamation point is back. Is 10 months the life span of this product ?  I hope not since my wife and I bought ours around the same time and hers is still working like new. Seems to be a lot of defects if you go b ywhat is on this forum

The cleaning doesn't work. What works is doing a hard power off on your iPhone or iPad. The battery outline and exclamation point disappear and the Fitbit Charge HR jumps back to life.

@n2scuba Glad to hear that your tracker is now charging but I wanted to clarify that the phone app should not affect the tracker's ability to charge. Still what it should display is the tracker's battery status the last time it synced.

@kellnwayne1970 Welcome to our Community! If you want to update your tracker you can check your app for any notification or the website about an update available. If there is one you will be notified. Did the new charging cable work on your device? Did you clean the contacts as suggested in my previous post?

Looking forward to your reply.
