Battery life not lasting

Hello everyone,

I have had my fitbit charge 2 for over 2 years now and I haven't come across any problems until 2-3 days ago. My fitbit needed charging so I charged it then the next night it was already dead. So I charged it again and the same thing happened - it went dead within a day, usually it takes up to 5 days before it needs charging again. Has anyone else had these problems? Anyone know how this could of happened and what exactly has happened here? Any advice? Do I need to get a new battery if that even is a thing?

Thanks 🙂

I have had my fitbit charge just over the 1 year warranty and it will not hold a charge over night. Fitbit will offer you probably a 25% discount on a new one, thats it. I am almost at a 5 yr mark wearing fitbit products and for most people they do not last much over warranty. You got lucky with 2 years. Good luck, I dont think I will waste any more money with them. I have had over 5 devices with them. Consider them throw aways!

Hi @Chloe-Aerobics, welcome to the Community Forums! @10bigred It's nice to see you again participating here, welcome back.

@Chloe-Aerobics Thanks for the information that was shared with me and for your patience with the battery difficulties you're experiencing with your device. Let me share with you that the battery of our Charge 2 was designed to last 5 days but this also depends on how frequently you use it’s features. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much. After doing so, please this help article for more tips and recommendations.

@10bigred Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and personal experience with the difficulties experienced with your device. Please note that we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, therefore, the feedback that's received here is really helpful and appreciated.

I'll be around. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

@10bigred you said that I could get 25% of a new Fibit, how do I get that and could I get any Fitbit? Should I just contact Fibit? Thanks!

I had been offered the 25% off for a replacement, so yes maybe you should contact Fitbit and find out if they offer you anything. First do what they recommended in the charging suggestion, it may help. Best of luck.

@ Chloe....any luck? I just saw an email from fitbit with up to 70 dollars off. Of course that is for the more expensive one and realize from this email that charge 2 apparently is no more. See a charge 3 with 30 dollars off. In researching other trackers hell I am more confused now with all of them having good and bad reviews!

@Ricardo

I wonder if charge 2 bands fit charge 3 and if you buy the 2 yr protection is that 2 yrs beyond the initial 1 yr. warranty?
