Battery will not charge after a swim in a pool

I have a charge 4 and it has stopped working after a swim in less than 3 feet deep water. Fitbit says it can go upto 50m which is 165feet deep. So, I contacted fitbit and they said it is out of warranty and sent me a 35% voucher toward a new purchase. The warranty just expired and I am extremely disappointed with this whole thing and I will not purchase any fitbit product in the future. This products are cheaply made and for one time use. Very bad for the consumer and the environment. Now i have a second dead fitbit.

I would try putting device on charger then hold the side button while on charger for like 20 seconds.

The battery was charging but it drains within 8 hours or less. I have contacted support and tried everything fitbit suggested. But what irks me they didn't even have the option for me to send it for repair which of course would most likley be more expensive than the unit itself. Basically, this is going to the landfill.
