Battery with circle and exclamation mark displayed

I have only wonderful things to say about the new firmware update, but just now, I see something I haven't seen before on my tracker.  A big battery with a circle and an exclamation point in the middle.  My battery is at 18%.  I usually let it go down to 10% or so and then charge it.

Is this the tracker telling me to recharge my battery or is something wrong?

I have the same problem.  Fitbit won't charge at all now and am working with Customer Service to resolve the issue.

Actually, I assumed FitBit was telling me to charge my battery, so I put it in the charger and now it's fine.  It charged and works perfectly well.  Don't know if this will last though...

Please let me know what Customer Service says.  Thank you!

I guess they have to eliminate the charger cord first so a new one is being sent out but I don't think this will fix the problem because I have other unresolved issues with the Fitbit as I can no longer access the weather or get notifications. Customer service could not get these problems fixed either. Final step will be to get a new Fitbit as mine is only two months old.

I'm so sorry you're having these problems. Glad you can return it and get
a new one though. Make sure it already has the update on it. Mine works
beautifully. Have not had any problems except the big battery, which got
resolved right away.

Let us know when you get the new device.

This is exactly what they are doing to correct my issue.. the error appeared on my fitbit while I was wearing it, it didn't have anything to do with the cord or charging. It has to be the update they did recently.

Thanks for this, Karlarw. I was also wearing my tracker when the big
battery appeared. But as soon as I put it on the charger, it disappeared
and the percentage of power appeared (18%). It charged properly and I have
not had any trouble since. We'll see when I'm down to 18% again...

You know what's funny.. that is the EXACT percentage that mine said when I tried to charge it after the error but if I could get to another screen on my fitbit the percentage was different. I wonder if the 18% is part of the error.

It seems 18% may very well be part of the bug I hope someone from Fitbit
takes this into account when troubleshooting.

I am having the same problem & also at 18%. A successful restart did not change the "message."

@Zelda410 I checked with the team this is expected behavior, it indicates that you have 1 day of battery life yet. You should be able to dismiss it by pressing the button.

@psjcal Did you try pressing the button on the left-hand side, did this dismiss it?

None of that helped me. Customer Service is sending me a new charge cord to see if that will help correct the issue.

A few days ago, I got this big battery with an exclamaiton point.  It was at 18%.  I put it on the charger and it was OK

Now it just happened again.  Before the update, I could bring it down to below 10%, which meant I had another night with the battery and could charge it in the early morning when I am not as busy.

What is that big battery all about and, if it's a warning to recharge, can it be bypassed or put at a lower percantage?

It just happened to me again - at exactly 18%. Putting it on the chargr
seems to be working. It's still on it.

Thank you for that. It just happened to me again and I put it on the
charger.

Next time, I will know what it means and push the button. Will give you
feedback in a few day because now it's almost all charged.

@Karlarw are you still seeing the battery/exclamation mark? Our tools indicate you are above 18% battery.

@Zelda410 I merged your posts together to avoid crossposting. Tip: if you want to add more information you can edit your post by tapping the three dots in the corner. This warning indicates you have approximately 1 day of battery life left. You can dismiss it, but will see another warning when it goes below 10%. Are you saying that you are not able to dismiss it?

I did not try to dismiss it because I didn't know what it was. I just put
it on the charger.

I will know to pish the button to dismiss it next time. For now, it is
fully charged and on my wrist.

I will let you know when I am at 18% again if I have trouble dismissing it.

Thank you for your help.

Sorry I didn't just edit my first post. I'll do that next time

I managed to get my fitbit to charge a little so the battery pic went away. I had to find the perfect position for it and make sure it didn't move while being plugged in to charge even a little. I'm hoping that getting a new charger will fix it.

@Zelda410 , @Karlarw thanks for your feedback. I'm letting my Charge 3 go down to 18% to review the experience. But as mentioned, this is anticipated. It can be dismissed by squeezing the button.

Will get back to you in a few days when 18% comes around again.

Your help was very quick and useful. Thank you. Much appreciated.

I did indeed press the button -- no go -- however a charge worked. This does seem to be an 18% issue & in the past I was able to go another 24 hrs when it got to 20% so this is NOT convenient.
