Black lines across screen on Charge 3

A couple weeks ago a black line appeared across the center of my screen, I thought it was just a glitch and would fix with the next update. Now some more lines have appeared at the top. Have tried resetting and restarting both my Fitbit and my phone (in case it was a syncing issue for some reason) nothing has gotten rid of this. I had bougth my Fitbit from Amazon.ca, so I am unsure what to do for returns or customer service. Thank you.

I did too and I'm wondering if that is what caused it. I bought a Charge 4, which has all the same features, but I'm not taking it in the water.

The charge 4 is supposed to be able to go into the water, to be fair you could have got a cheaper device elsewhere x

The charge 3 was advertised as able to go into the water as well - it was one of the reasons I wanted it. I got it on a black Friday sale so it was reasonable. Since I'm tied into a community of friends who all have Fitbits and do challenges together I'm not looking to change brand.

I don’t get it. What’s the point of your remark. I love my Charge 4 regardless if I go swimming or not.

My problem was I bought Charge 3 before I had to get rid of my Charge  2 because 3 said you could go swimming in it. Then after 13 months I started having problems and the only thing I can attribute it to is the water, since I had no problems with the other ones. So because I was 1 month past warranty I ended up having to buy a new one. When you buy something for an advertised feature, it's very disappointing when it doesn't deliver as promised. So I don't want to buy a new tracker every year, so I'm not getting this one in water. Sabotta is trying a different brand, which if you aren't tied into a community could be a smart move.

I swam often with Charge 3 but settled for the black lines since I was past
the warranty. This summer the Charge 3 developed a fatal error (also after
a swim.) I decided to buy a Charge 4 and now swim and kayak with it
regularly. So far so good. The instructions said to never charge the device
when wet, so I am always waiting before charging after a swim. (I do also
take it off before showers.)

If a product is designed to be able to swim whilst wearing it, what’s the point in taking it off. A fitness tracker is for such things, my charge 3 was purchased for the very reason to go in water yet they can’t 🤔🤔 as the device is defective..
