All of a sudden i get black screen on my fitbit3, i've had this a number of times to be honest. But this time it reset my Face clock to a horrible one, which i can't read and i can no longer change it. Each time i try selecting another face I just get a spinner and does nothing, i've tried re-installing the app, clearing user data from fitbit, rebooting/resetting the fitbit. The software is so ultra buggy it is beyond belief, how can something so basic not work, come on google sort their software out and improve coding standards. On another note everything else is working find, syncing data etc, just changing the clock face no longer works.

Besides the regular restart you can also try a long restart by doing the following:
If this doesn't help, you can attach an image of your clock face for further investigation.

hi, i've tried your long restart, but my charge 3 does not function the way you describe, nevertheless i've tried a dozen times to follow your 7 steps
After the 2 vibrations and a few seconds after i always get a smiley face appear temporarily and then the clock face appears.
I don't get the progress bars and total of 7 short vibrations, the simily face appears around 7 seconds in.
the clock face i get is Mod Clock see attached, the one i want is Retro Double Stat.
I'm using an Android device, looks like the clock face app is somehow corrupted after the black screen.
Is there any way of re-installing all the firmware software back onto the watch?

Please be aware that in order to use the Fitbit app you must have one of the following operating systems installed on your phone or tablet:
You can see your current Fitbit app version and update by following these steps. To change the clock face, please make sure you are following this guide.
To answer your question, the firmware software can be updated only when there is an update available. If necessary, you can remove apps, stored data, personal information and saved settings on your Charge 3 by doing the following:
On your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data.
